Konservierungswissenschaft im Dialog
Speaker: Abdelrhman Fahmy, Rathgen-Forschungslabor, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin
Enhancing traditional conservation methods utilizing nanomaterials is considered a good offer for innovative solutions to treat the archaeological surfaces efficiently. In this regard, the current presentation demonstrates insights on nanotechnology practices and applications for the consolidation of ancient materials surfaces. In this sense, multi techniques will be presented for nanomaterials evaluation and the assessment of the applied materials before and after the treatment process. In addition, the old practices of nanomaterials production with ancient evidences and nanotecholgists will be highlighted. Furthermore, the practical process of nanoparticles production with practical treatment of the archaeological lime mortar surfaces will be shown. Lastly, future perspectives will be discussed.
The lecture will be held in English.
