From 1984 to 2000 Donald Lokuta was a friend and often an assistant to the sculptor George Segal. During those sixteen years he made over 10,000 photographs of Segal working and he documented the 90 meter long Segal Studio.
With these photographs, Lokuta’s presentation will describe the steps in Segal’s complicated casting process from casting the model to the finished plaster sculpture. Lokuta will also give a photographic tour of the ten rooms of the studio that Segal set up as his work space and exhibition rooms for his art.
