On Monday 25 July, the completion of the skeleton frame for the temporary rotunda of Yadegar Asisi's 360° panorama, especially constructed for the 'PERGAMON - Panorama of the Ancient Metropolis' exhibition, was celebrated in a topping out ceremony held in the forecourt of the Pergamon Museum.
At the topping out ceremony, speeches were held by Martin Maischberger, Deputy Director of the Collection of Classical Antiquities, Yadegar Asisi, the panorama artist, and the architect responsible for the construction, Anuschah Behzadi, of Behzadi + Partner Architekten BDA. 'PERGAMON - Panorama of the Ancient Metropolis' is the first major exhibition organized by the National Museums' Collection of Classical Antiquities to be entirely dedicated to the ancient city of Pergamon and featuring a panorama artwork by Yadegar Asisi. The fruits of the joint project will go on show from 30 September 2011 to 30 September 2012, in an exhibition spread over 4000 square metres in the north wing of the Pergamon Museum and in a purpose-built rotunda erected on the museum's forecourt.
Advanced bookings for the exhibition have already commenced and are available online at: www.pergamon-panorama.de
