Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart

In conjunction with the retrospective Semiha Berksoy. Singing in Full Colour, the Komische Oper Berlin is visiting Hamburger Bahnhof with the Operndolmuş musical taxi-van. At the exhibition the musicians and singers present an intercultural opera programme of Rossini arias, Berlin operettas and Turkish pop music on Saturday, 29 March 2025, at 2:00 and 4:30 pm.

The collaboration allows an opera and exhibition visit at the same time. Visitors can view the first comprehensive retrospective of the Turkish painter and opera singer Semiha Berksoy in Germany. Accompanying tours of the exhibition are offered in German or Turkish.

Participation in the event is free of charge with the admission ticket to the museum.

Selam Opera: Opera for Everyone

The Komische Oper Berlin was founded in 1947 as an “opera house for everyone”. The Selam Opera programme seeks to present musical theatre as an art form that appeals to all sections of the population, addresses current social issues, and creates experiences bringing different communities together. It is inclusive, intercultural and innovative. With this in mind, the Salem Opera has been developing programmes for over 14 years that recognise the diversity of people as an enrichment and do not overlook social realities.

The Semiha Berksoy. Singing in Full Colour Retrospective

Hamburger Bahnhof is presenting the first comprehensive retrospective of Turkish painter and opera singer Semiha Berksoy in Germany through 11 May 2025. Featuring more than 80 paintings and works on paper, as well as numerous archive documents, film clips and sound recordings, the exhibition reveals Berksoy’s significant influence on the cultural landscape in Turkey and beyond.
