Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart
With the educational series “Show me!”, the Hamburger Bahnhof invites all visitors to take a look behind the scenes from November 2024: Public conservation allows visitors to get to know works of art and the museum's collection work up close during the exhibition visit. Over the course of a year, key works from the collection by Bruce Nauman and Rachel Whiteread are being publically restored.
The public restoration begins in November 2024 with Bruce Nauman’s site-specific installation in the Rieckhallen, followed by Rachel Whiteread’s work displayed in the current collection exhibition Nationalgalerie: A Collection for the 21th Century as of January 2025. The project concludes with the restoration of a media artwork in the latter half of 2025. Guided tours and discussions with experts accompany the conservation of the respective works.
In addition, visitors have the opportunity to speak to the restorers on site and ask questions during a daily time slot. (Bruce Nauman, 3 to 30 November 2024; Rachel Whiteread 13 January to 30 May 2025).
Participation free of charge with admission ticket. Registration not required.
