Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart
Under the motto “Crossover Between the Arts and Sciences”, this year’s Rundgang 50Hertz is presenting selected video installations by Clara Alisch, Steph Joyce and Lisa Hoffmann at Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin from 29 September to 3 October 2022.
Encouraged to apply were art students whose works of art and concepts are based on artistic research methodology. Relying on a crossover approach makes it possible to incorporate findings from scientific disciplines (for example from ethnology, physics, ecology, mathematics, anthropology, archaeology, biology, history, geophysics) in questions, enquiries and research, and transform them into works of art. What new forms of recognition might emerge in the aesthetic arena from a dovetailing of the arts and sciences?
The artists chosen – Clara Alisch, Steph Joyce and Lisa Hoffmann – are showing their works in the action space at Hamburger Bahnhof from 29 September 2022 to 3 October 2022. Their works will also be presented on the project website, which serves as the project’s communication platform. A call to apply for the next Rundgang in 2022‒23 has already been published there.
The project supporting recent graduates of study programmes in the visual or fine arts was established through a cooperation initialised in 2017 between the Nationalgalerie at Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin and 50Hertz, a transmission system operator. The project promotes and recognises works by young contemporary artists from art academies in Berlin, Hamburg and Leipzig.
