A current study at the Bode Museum examines viewing habits regarding historical works of art. Visitors are invited to participate via eye tracking and actively support research in this field!
Historical reconstructions are a powerful tool for bringing the past to life. While they help visualise history, little is known about how audiences interact with different representations of the past.
A new research project at the Bode Museum, conducted by researchers from the University of Warsaw, SWPS University of Social Sciences, and Liverpool Hope University, aims to bridge this gap. Using eye-tracking technology, the study explores how diverse visitors engage with historical reconstructions, providing valuable insights into visitors engagement and historical education.
Anyone who would like to take part in our research can visit us between until 23rd March 2025 at our exhibition “In Pracht gehüllt. Rekonstruktionen mittelalterlicher Gewänder aus Nubien” (2nd floor, room 220). Our research team will be there to explain the task and guide participants through the process.
