The publisher and editor-in-chief of the photography magazine FOTOGRAFIE and the art magazine APEX, Wolfgang Schulz, passed away on Tuesday 14 July 2020 at the age of 75 in Cologne, with his family by his side.

As the editor of the magazine FOTOGRAFIE, through his bold and visionary work, Wolfgang Schulz created a high-profile forum for the emerging photography scene of the 1970s and ’80s in Germany. The magazine reflected his own intellectual stance, the spirit of the counter-culture and of subjectivity. Throughout his life, photography remained a faithful companion.
