The new issue of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin Magazine is out in time for the start of the new year and is packed with details on current exhibitions, events, and offers for children and young people.
In addition to the large events calendar of guided tours, workshops, lectures, and concerts, the museum magazine also has a kids' page and a special feature that provides an insider's view of the collections' work. In this edition, Bernd Lindemann, Director of both the Gemäldegalerie and the Skulpturensammlung und Museum für Byzantinische Kunst (Sculpture Collection and Museum of Byzantine Art), sheds light on the many loans involved in the forthcoming major exhibition on the Baroque architect Andreas Schlüter, which opens at the Bode-Museum in April.
In addition, the current issue presents an overview of the events held by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation as part of its commemorative year '1914 - Awakening - World Breakup', in memory of the outbreak of the First World War 100 years ago.
