Museum Europäischer Kulturen
The MOLDOVAmobile will be out and about in Berlin from 11 May to 15 July 2010. A microbus has been turned into a navigable multimedia exhibition space for the project. The bus will be stopping at more than 10 places in Berlin, each time giving the public informed perspectives on culture, politics and everyday life in the Republic of Moldova.
The microbus gives people the chance to hear first-hand statements from Moldovans themselves. Photographs, films, quotes and other types of information provide an insight into a country that is less well known in Western Europe. The exhibition, realized by the Division of Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe at the Museum of European Cultures, has been devised from a media concept plan by the Visitor Services of the National Museums in Berlin.
The travelling exhibition is accompanied by a diverse cultural programme featuring Moldovan and international artists as well as experts on the region. The events are hosted in conjunction with various important Berlin institutions and deal with issues involving art, literature, film, research and politics.
The microbus will take in the following stops: the Goethe-Institut Berlin, the Museum Island Berlin, the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Brotfabrik Berlin, the Werkstatt der Kulturen, the European Academy Berlin, the daad gallery, Schwartzsche Villa, Hegelplatz and the ifa Gallery Berlin.
