KIEZ MEETS MUSEUM: Stell die Verbindung her (“Link It Up”) – The Audio-guide for Teens

07.12.2016
Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart

Projects for young people are the focus of the now-extended collaboration between the foundation Berliner Leben and the Staatliche Museen’s Nationalgalerie. Link It Up is an audio-guide for teens visiting the collection displays at the Nationalgalerie at the Hamburger Bahnhof.

What kind of audio-guide is fun for teens to use? What stories would you tell your friends about art? And which sounds do you think fit best to the artworks on display?

During their project week from 14–18 November 2016, Link It Up invited pupils at the Schule an der Jungfernheide to discover their own personal links to the art in the collection and to tell their own stories about the works on display. Together with an audio-guide author, an artist and their teacher, they developed an audio-guide to the collection displays at the Nationalgalerie at the Hamburger Bahnhof aimed especially at teenagers. The audio-guide will be available for use by visitors to the museum from 7 December 2016.

Link It Up was made possible by Berliner Leben, a foundation of the GEWOBAG group (a not-for-profit housing company based in Berlin), and is part of the cooperation KIEZ MEETS MUSEUM between the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and Berliner Leben. The Staatliche Museen’s Nationalgalerie and Berliner Leben have been working together successfully since 2014. The KIEZ MEETS MUSEUM project marks the continuation of that cooperation from 2016–2018 and its expansion to four projects per year for kids, teens and young adults.
