Haus Bastian – Zentrum für kulturelle Bildung
On Sunday, 8 October 2023, an inclusive Family Activity Day will take place at the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s Haus Bastian – Centre for Cultural Education from 12:00 noon to 5 pm. Under the motto “Sport, Art and Movement”, Haus Bastian invites visitors to various workshops, short tours and a performance by the Junge RambaZamba Theater (Young RambaZamba Theatre) at the museums.
Warm up, get going and win: At three workshops, participants warm up by spinning and jumping, get lots of pens moving, and design their own medal. At a sprint pace, they conquer the Alte Nationalgalerie, the Neues Museum and the Altes Museum all the while discovering runners made of stone and dancers captured in oil.
Snacks and drinks will be available on site. Participation is free of charge, and registration is not required.
All activities are barrier-free. Artists with and without disabilities have designed the programmes. A sign language interpreter will be on site. Further information is available on the details page for the event (in German).
The Family Activity Day is part of the project READY STEADY GO: Museums Inclusive!
The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 were taken as an opportunity to join inclusive associations and clubs in Berlin in developing an activities, infra- and communication structure enabling a sustainable, inclusive use of the museums. In addition, READY STEADY GO: Museums Inclusive seeks to contribute to establishing sustainable effective structures in the city to promote normalised integration of people with learning disabilities. The project is funded by the Senate Department for the Interior and Sport as part of Berlin’s sustainability programme Inclusion ’23.
