Digital Visitor Research: Annual Conference of the Visitor Research Network on 14 and 15 November 2022

05.10.2022
Institut für Museumsforschung

The Visitor Research Network is holding its annual conference on 14 and 15 November 2022. Registration is now open.

The founding initiative of the Visitor Research Network, consisting of the Institut für Museumsforschung (Institute for Museum Research) Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, the Stiftung Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, the DASA Dortmund, the Jüdisches Museums Berlin, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and the Deutscher Museumsbund, formed an association in August. It aims to establish a nationwide network for visitor research that will help museums become fit for the future by supporting and accompanying the dynamic development of visitor and audience research at museums.

Conference Topic: Digital Visitor Research

Digital activities at museums have increased significantly in recent years. Yet our knowledge of digital audiences and their use of digital content is still limited. At its 2022 annual conference, the Visitor Research Network will explore digital museum audiences and digitisation within the framework of an analogue museum visit. The conference objective is to learn about visitor research and evaluation approaches pertaining to the interaction between museums and the digital world.

The conference takes place from 14 to 15 November 2022 at the Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Bonn.
