Days of Shining Action by the MANY on 8 and 9 May 2020

05.05.2020

The interregional actions will be bundled in a sparkling stream and made available online on 8 May 2020 (6 to 24 pm) and 9 May (12.30 pm to approx. 13.30 pm): The stream URL is already active.

On 8 May 2020, the 75th anniversary of the liberation from National Socialism, from 6 pm to midnight, and on 9 May 2020, the 70th anniversary of the European Union, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, DIE VIELEN (THE MANY) will create a digital space of possibility: The live stream will show actions and contributions from more than 4,400 of the signatories of the declarations of DIE VIELEN in Germany and Austria. On 9 May 2020 from 12:30 pm, signatories will read out the more than 30 regional declarations of THE DIE VIELEN and choirs and musicians across the whole of Germany will sing the alternative European anthem.

DIE VIELEN was founded as an association for the safeguarding of artistic freedom in openness and diversity. In the last three years, DIE VIELEN has become an interregional open network between numerous art institutions, active members of the cultural landscape and independent artists.

The Nationalgalerie has signed the Berlin Declaration of THE MANY.
