Bode-Museum
For weeks, the galleries in the Bode-Museum on the Museumsinsel Berlin have been a hive of activity, during preparations for the imminent exhibition 'Andreas Schlüter and Baroque Berlin'. Technicians are busy painting, sanding, drilling, and screwing things into place, in time for the opening of 'SCHLOSS BAU MEISTER' on 4 April. Art couriers, transport specialists, and conservators are working hand-in-hand to bring the 230 objects into place. Starting April 4, an array of objects by Andreas Schlüter, praised by contemporaries as 'the Michelangelo of the North', will be on show for visitors to discover. Sculptures, paintings, drawings, architectural sculptures, and decorative-art objects will bring to life the former Baroque centre of Berlin, which has been lost for centuries.
