Kupferstichkabinett
The Berlin Senate’s Department of Culture is making a call for submissions for the Hannah Höch Förderpreis for the field of drawing, printmaking and collage, with a particular focus on the use of language/text. It brings with it a prize of 10,000 Euro (subject to budgetary approval). The prize is awarded every second year together with the Hannah Höch Prize, and leads to a parallel exhibition in a recognised public cultural institution in Berlin. In 2022, the presentation will be hosted by the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s Kupferstichkabinett.
With the Hannah Höch Förderpreis, the state government of Berlin recognises the artistic work of a mid-career woman artist, supporting their professional development at this central stage of their career.
Applicants must have exhibited extensively in recognised cultural institutions in Berlin and beyond, and should have already received grants, prizes and the like for their work. Submissions are decided upon by an independent jury.
The Hannah Höch Förderpreis is endowed with a total of 38.000 Euro, made up of 10.000 Euro prize money and 28.000 Euro for the catalogue production and project presentation or exhibition. The exhibition duration will be determined in discussions between the Department of Culture and the Kupferstichkabinett, and the scale of the presentation is to be determined in discussions between the prize-winner and the Kupferstichkabinett.
Submissions are now open. The digital submission form and the interface for uploading the supplementary material can be found on the website of the Berlin Senate Department of Culture.
Submissions close at 6 pm on 14 October 2021.
