Neue Nationalgalerie
More than 100,000 visitors have already seen the Brancusi exhibition at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. The presentation remains on view until 9 August 2026. This coming Wednesday, 13 May 2026, launches an extensive special events programme accompanying the exhibition, featuring free lectures, concerts and workshops.
The special event programme is funded by the Rumänische Kulturinstitut, represented by its Berlin branch, “Titu Maiorescu”.
Until 9 August 2026, the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, in cooperation with the Centre Pompidou in Paris, is presenting a large-scale solo exhibition of the Romanian-French sculptor Constantin Brancusi (1876–1957). Featuring more than 150 works, it is the first extensive retrospective of this exceptional artist in Germany in over 50 years. In addition to major works, such as Schlummernde Muse (Sleeping Muse), Der Kuss (The Kiss), Vogel im Raum (Bird in Space) and the Unendliche Säule/Die Säule der Unendlichkeit (Endless Column), for the first time outside Paris, the exhibition includes a partial reconstruction of Brancusi’s well-known studio, which is believed to be the key to understanding his work.
The exhibition is under the joint patronage of Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Emmanuel Macron, President of France, and Nicușor Dan, President of Romania. The exhibition is made possible through the FREUNDE der Nationalgalerie.
