A new series of events launched at the Bode-Museum: lab.Bode Set#1:Rooms

23.05.2017
Bode-Museum

What happens when rooms that are created for education and outreach become visible in the museum? What image of the museum and of learning do they reflect? What spheres for activity do they open up to the visitors? How do they affect the self-understanding of the institution? How can spaces for education and outreach be designed?

The discourse programme lab.Bode starts with three perspectives on rooms for education.

On Tuesday, 30.5.2017 at 6 pm, Fiona Kingsman from Tate Modern will be talking about Developing Learning Spaces for the 21st century Art Museum: Tate Exchange

The lecture will take place at the Bode-Museum and is followed by a discussion. It is free of charge.
Registration is not required.

lab.Bode is an initiative to strengthen education work. As a joint programme of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes and Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, it has been located in the Bode Museum since July 2016. Four rooms are currently being redesigned for the education work of the initiative. The conception and design of these rooms is the first setting that is to be tested, critically questioned and changed.
