Dahlem
This year marks the twentieth and final time the Markt der Kontinente – traditionally held over four weekends in the pre-Christmas period – is hosted at the Dahlem museums. Festivities kicked off on Saturday 19th November 2016 with a children’s party.
With the Ethnologisches Museum and the Museum für Asiatische Kunst moving to the Humboldt Forum as of 9th January 2017, and the Museum Europäischer Kulturen remaining in Dahlem, this will be the last Markt der Kontinente to take place in Dahlem in this form.
The Market began on Saturday 19th November 2016 with a children’s party from 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Kids from the age of four upwards were able to play, create, dance, listen and even woodwork their way through the world’s cultures, exploring the big wide world with all their senses via workshops, tours, games and concerts.
