Museum Europäischer Kulturen

On Sunday, 9 November 2025, Textile Day will be hosted by the Museum Europäischer Kulturen (MEK, Museum of European Cultures). The 19th edition’s motto is “Textile Techniken: Wissen, Können, Weitergeben” (Textile Techniques: Knowledge, Skill, Pass It On).

Textile artists present their works and offer mini-workshops where visitors can experiment with a variety of techniques. The exhibitions also provide inspiration. Featured is the art project Gemeinsam 70 – alles im Fluss | Together 70 – Everything in Flux, showcasing individually designed blue squares by the Berlin-Brandenburg regional textile group (part of ...textil..e.V.). Another highlight is the presentation of works submitted to the ‟Fresh it UP!” competition by students at the Modeschule Berlin.

Textile Day participation is included in museum admission: 10 euros (reduced: 5 euros); children and teens under 18 receive free admission. Some small fees for materials may apply. No registration is required.

Programme

Textile Day at the MEK
