On 5 and 6 December 2025, Multaka: Museums as Meeting Point will celebrate its 10th anniversary together with co-host Multaka Oxford. The two-day event, “Reflecting the Future: Multaka 10th Anniversary – Learning from the Past, Envisioning the Future”, will take place at the Centre for Cultural Education – Haus Bastian, in the heart of Museum Island.

Over the past ten years, the multi-award-winning project Multaka has received both national and international recognition and is regarded as an innovative source of inspiration within and beyond the museum landscape.

This event is not only an occasion to celebrate but also a moment to pause, look back, and reflect on how we can build new bridges for a shared future. With the support of the Alwaleed Cultural Network, we look forward to discussing a decade of shared stories, collaborative learning, and (inter)national cooperation.

What can you explore?

Over the two days, you will experience:

  • In-depth 90-minute workshops exploring the legacies and impacts of our international Multaka Network partners from Berlin, Florence, Oxford, Turin, and Zaragoza.
  • A vibrant panel discussion highlighting shifting perspectives in the community and cultural sectors.
  • Multaka tours across Museum Island, led by Berlin guides, bringing diverse voices and personal insights to the fore.

Participation

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required by Tuesday, 2 December 2025, or until all spots are filled. Please register early to secure your place on the following website: Reflecting the Future

Why participate?

This event offers an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with international colleagues and projects, gain new inspiration for own museum or educational work, and reflect together with the Multaka community on possible shared paths for the future.
