The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin is one of the cooperation partners in the postdoctoral fellowships which are awarded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Volkswagen Stiftung for placements at German universities and research institutions.
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation sponsors up to twelve American postdocs in humanities to spend a year at academic institutions in Germany. In addition to the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, other partners include: the Institute for Advanced Studies, Freiburg, the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) in Berlin, the Berlin Centre of the Modern Orient, the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, the Dahlem Humanities Center at the Freie Universität Berlin, the Lichtenberg-Kolleg in Göttingen, the German National Library in Frankfurt am Main, the Herzog August Library in Wolfenbüttel, the German Literature Archive in Marbach, as well as the Cluster of Excellence ‘Cultural Foundations of Integration’ and the Zukunftskolleg, both at the University of Constance.
The fellowships are granted for nine to twelve months.
