Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart | CHANEL Commission: Lina Lapelytė. We Make Years Out of Hours | 1.5.2026 – 10.1.2027

01.05.2026

For the second edition of the CHANEL Commission Lina Lapelytė presents “We Make Years Out of Hours”, an evolving performance and collective construction in Hamburger Bahnhof’s Historic Hall. Known for her meditative works that intertwine sound, ritual, and labour, Lapelytė transforms the vast space into a site of shared action and song. Blurring the boundaries between sculpture and performance, individual and collective, the work becomes a living monument to time, care, and coexistence. The exhibition’s participatory format foregrounds the museum’s approach of community and openness as part of its 30th anniversary. The exhibition opens during Gallery Weekend Berlin.
