Gemäldegalerie | Restoration of Filippo Lippi’s painting “The Adoration in the Forest” (1459)

Filippo Lippi’s “The Adoration in the Forest” is one of the outstanding works of Italian Renaissance painting. Through exquisite tempera painting, the subtle use of gilding and the application of innovative techniques in perspective, Lippi demonstrates the full range of his artistic skill in this work.
Thanks to the generous support of the Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation and the Schoof Foundation, the work can now be restored at the Gemäldegalerie of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.
