Seven of the Bode Museum's curators and restorers present their favourite objects and talk about difficulties they have experienced in their own lives. They explain how a work of art can help to overcome small and big crises; even those that seem insumortable.
An amulet, like this almost two-thousand-year-old golden capsule, is supposed to help people in times of need. Cäcilia Fluck says you don't have to be religious to believe in the power of amulets, but it helps if you can associate them with something positive. When you feel their support, the crises can no longer affect you. She has her own amulet, given to her by a very good friend in difficult times.
