The artist Petrit Halilaj and Catherine Nichols, curator at Hamburger Bahnhof - Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart, will talk about Halilaj's work and his first comprehensive solo exhibition in Germany, which opened on 10 September 2025 in the Rieckhallen at Hamburger Bahnhof.
The focus will be on the artist's first opera work, possibilities of collective dreaming and works from various creative phases of the Berlin-based artist. Petrit Halilaj (born 1986) creates complex worlds that provide space for freedom, longing, intimacy, and identity. His art is deeply connected to the history of his home country, Kosovo, and the cultural and political tensions in the region. His works have been exhibited internationally, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Venice Biennale, and Tate St Ives.
In the series “In Conversation. A series funded by Deutsche Bank”, an artist talks about their work on the first Saturday of every month at 3 p.m.
