In collaboration with the American Academy in Berlin, the concert by pianist Kelly James Wyse took place at the Neue Nationalgalerie. With this concert we want to celebrate Lucy Raven's solo exhibition before it closes on 21 April. Wyse will play in front of the video installation in the upper Mies Hall and relate his music to Lucy Raven's work.
Kelly James Wyse is a pianist, composer and teacher from the USA who lives in Berlin. His music is inspired by experiments with harmonic colours, whether through overtone manipulation or repetition. His solo piano album ‘Pastoralia’ was self-published in 2020, the remix EP ‘Sol’ was released in 2021. He has been a core member of X-Ray Press, Pollens and The Seattle Pianist Collective and has contributed to recordings by Erik k Skodvin, loscil, Rafael Anton Irasarri, Paurl Walsh, Jake Muir and Orcas.
