The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin venues are again participating in a free admission day on the Second “Museum Sunday”, 5 September 2021. Since 4 July 2021, numerous museums throughout the city have been offering free admission and diverse programmes on the first Sunday of every month. Time-slot tickets (free of charge) can be booked for this Sunday on the website: www.museumssonntag.berlin.
The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin are delighted to welcome families, children of all age groups, teenagers and adults to Museum Sunday. Visitors can look forward to free admission as well as an extensive programme (only in German). Under the title “Kurz und knackig – Gespräche im Museum” (Short and Sweet Museum Talks) art educators invite visitors to the collections for dialogues. This programme offers succinct information on the collections and encourages dialogues with art educators and guides, who accompany children and families to explore the displays and museum exhibitions. “Blick drauf!” (Take a Look!), a mobile outreach station in the Kolonnadenhof (Colonnade Courtyard), invites viewers to look at works more closely and to explore the Museumsinsel Berlin from an artist’s perspective.
Staatliche Museen zu Berlin participating venues include: the Alte Nationalgalerie, Altes Museum, Bode-Museum, Friedrichswerdersche Kirche (Friedrichswerder Church), Gemäldegalerie (Old Master Paintings), Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin, James-Simon-Galerie, Kunstbibliothek (Art Library), Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts), Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings), Museum Berggruen, Museum Europäischer Kulture (MEK, Museum of European Cultures), Museum für Fotografie (Museum of Photography), Neues Museum, Neue Nationalgalerie, Pergamonmuseum, Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama, Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg and Schloss Köpenick (Köpenick Palace).
