Various services of the Rathgen-Forschungslabors (Rathgen Research Laboratory) in the areas of conservation science, art technology and archaeometry are also offered to external clients.

Please understand that inquires from private individuals, dealers, auction houses and private collections can only be taken on in justified exceptional cases (research interests, investigative proceedings).

• Order processing is carried out in accordance with the Berlin Resolution of 2003 (PDF, 11 KB).
• Investigations of art and cultural assets are only conducted if the requirements for object documentation and provenance are fulfilled for the objects in accordance with the Berlin Resolution of 2003 (PDF, 11 KB).

In addition, as one of the Kunstbibliothek's external specialist libraries, the Rathgen-Forschungslabor also contains an extensive collection of literature on the:

• conservation,
• restoration,
• and material analysis of artworks and cultural artefacts.

Use of the research laboratory's library is available by appointment
