AAS Database

Development of an interactive database of AAS metal alloy analyses at the Rathgen- Forschungslabor

As part of a module within the InterFlex project led by Professors Dessler (information sciences) and Freitag (metal restoration) at the University of applied Sciences in Potsdam (FHP), a group of information scientists and conservators is developing an interactive database that will contain all data from metal alloy analysis of cultural goods and artefacts carried out by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) at the Rathgen-Forschungslabor. The aim is to facilitate searches in specific categories as well as the classification of data according to their reliability.

A further objective is to cooperate with other digitalisation initiatives, in particular with the Institut für Museumsforschung.
