New Opening Hours

Opening hours for the reopened venues:

  • Museumsinsel Berlin (Alte Nationalgalerie, Altes Museum, Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama)

Health and Safety Measures

Visitors (age 6 and older) and all staff are obliged to wear a mouth and nose covering and to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 metres from other people. Plexiglas partitions protect all ticket, information and audio guide counters. For the time being no events will take place at the museums. Tour bookings and groups registrations cannot be accepted until further notice.

Visitors must follow a designated course through all exhibition spaces and should avoid forming groups inside the buildings. Signs in front of and inside the museums as well as social distance markers in the operational areas provide information about the health and safety measures to be observed. Visitors purchasing tickets on site and/or items in a museum shop are requested to use non-cash payment methods.

Online Time-Slot Tickets

Until further notice, visits to the museums mentioned above are only possible with a time-slot ticket. These tickets can currently be booked until the end of May 2020. This offer will be continuously extended and expanded. It is strongly recommended that visitors buy their tickets online, in advance, to avoid lines forming at the ticket counters and entrances: www.smb.museum/tickets

Holders of annual membership passes, as well as press, ICOM or DMB passes; children and young people under 18; members of Friends or Supporter Associations of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin; and persons accompanying severely disabled people are requested to book a gratis time-slot online or at the ticket counter and to present corresponding ID upon admission without being asked.

Time-slot tickets can also be purchased on site at the ticket counters, subject to their availability.

New Individual Ticket for Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama

The exhibition PERGAMON: Masterpieces from the Ancient Metropolis, with its 360°panorama by Yadegar Asisi, can now be visited with an individual ticket specifically for entrance to this special exhibition venue: 12 euros, reduced 6 euros.

No Combined or Location Tickets until Further Notice

Only single tickets are being sold at this time. The sale of location tickets as well as the acceptance of the Berlin Welcome Card and the Museumscard Berlin have been suspended.

Annual Tickets

All annual tickets that have been affected by the closure of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (14 March to 11 May 2020) will be extended by two months. The extension is automatic, there is no need to get a new ticket. The extended tickets can be used from 15 May 2020 in the museums that have reopened. Currently, all visitors must book a time-slot to visit the museums. For annual ticket holders, booking a time-slot is free. In order to avoid queues at the ticket desks, we recommend that visitors purchase tickets online.

Shops and Cafés

Shops in the above-mentioned museums are open Tuesday to Sunday, from 12 noon to 6 pm. Cafés, restaurants and other food & beverage services at these museums remain closed at this time.
