Big Opening Weekend for the 200th Anniversary of Museum Island: Tickets Now on Sale

The major anniversary, 200 Jahre Museumsinsel Berlin (200 Years of the Museum Island Berlin), begins with an opening weekend Island Festival from 30 May to 1 June 2025. Advance Ticket Sales begin today.

With a festival weekend revolving around UNESCO World Heritage Day, the Museumsinsel Berlin is launching its 200 Jahre Museumsinsel anniversary. From 30 May to 1 June 2025, visitors can expect a versatile programme: special activities and events at the museums during the day and colourful stage performances outdoors in the evenings. Advance Ticket Sales of Special Tickets for the Opening Weekend are now available.

One Ticket – Six Museums

During the festival, the popular day pass ticket for 14 euros (reduced 7 euros), which is normally only valid for admission to one museum, applies to all six venues on the Museumsinsel: Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Bode-Museum, Pergamon. Das Panorama and the James-Simon-Galerie.

There is an added bonus for visitors with an annual pass (Basic, Classic or Classic Plus): On the festival weekend, you can bring along one other person gratis. Children and teens under 18 receive free admission as usual.

Museumsinsel outdoor special events are free of charge.

Stage Programme and Cultural Highlights

On all three days of the opening weekend, a varied stage programme will take place in the Kolonnadenhof (Colonnaded Courtyard), with contributions from the Deutsches Theater, Volksbühne, Berliner Ensemble, Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Komische Oper. In parallel, UNESCO World Heritage Day is celebrated on Sunday, 1 June 2025. More than 60 free tours and surprises, as well as creative workshops and join-in activities, await visitors at the museums.
