The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin are releasing five video clips created in co-operation with the Schaubühne Berlin. The ‘Pergamon Poems’ are dedicated to the highlight of the major Pergamon exhibition in the Pergamonmuseum: the Great Frieze of the Pergamon Altar. The Gigantomachy - the battle of the gods against the giants - rages on the Hellenistic work of art. The German poet Gerhard Falkner has put the chaos of the dramatic scenes depicted on the frieze into words. Members of the Schaubühne ensemble interpret the texts and together raise the question: ‘...how many gigabytes does this frieze have, what gigantic archive does this stone harbour’?
