On Sunday during Berlin Art Week, Corey Scott Gilbert | vAL unveiled their newly commissioned work Bellied at the Neue Nationalgalerie as part of PERFORM! 2025. Moving through empty bleachers with shards of mirrors, the performer confronted the audience’s gaze—closing the distance until boundaries dissolved. The piece leaves us asking: How do we reposition ourselves for better reflections? What can be assembled from splintered thoughts?
