Extreme Tension Talks: Franz Erhard Walther

What a fantastic start to our Extreme Tension TALKS lecture series entitled ‘Action as Sculpture’, a discussion evening with the artist Franz Erhard Walther and the art historian Gregor Quack. Franz Erhard Walther not only visited us for two days, but we also had the opportunity to activate selected works with him and talk to him.

On the occasion of the current collection presentation ‘Extreme Tension. Art between Politics and Society Collection of the Nationalgalerie 1945 – 2000’, the Neue Nationalgalerie is inviting artists and experts to talk about “Tearing Tests” in the past and present from November 2024 to July 2025. Over ten evenings, artists and experts will talk about the role of art between politics and society, between everyday life and pop, between nature and ecology, as well as about feminism and fleeting identities.
