Berlin Art Week (BAW) is a five-day festival representing the largest association of major players in Berlin’s contemporary art scene. BAW takes place for the 12th time from 13 to 17 September 2023. The Neue Nationalgalerie is the festival venue for this year’s Berlin Art Week. It is marking BAW 2023 by hosting the performance festival PERFORMS! for the second time, with works by Yoko Ono, Göksu Kunak, and many more. Hamburger Bahnhof offers daily guided tours and a special programme during BAW 2023.

BAW Garden and the Performance Festival PERFORM!

This year, the Neue Nationalgalerie is the site of BAW Garden, the festival meeting place, for which a temporary artistic installation consisting of trees has been created on its terrace in collaboration with atelier le balto. Following BAW, the trees will be integrated into the project Baumschule Kulturforum. An extensive programme of events takes place at BAW Garden. In addition, Klaus Biesenbach leads tours through the construction site of the neighbouring Berlin Modern museum. Special thanks to the cultural projects and Berlin Art Week for choosing the Neue Nationalgalerie this year as the site of BAW Garden and as the festival venue.
