Museumsinsel Berlin

For six weeks, beginning 8 July 2021, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin invites guests onto the Museumsinsel between 7 and 10 pm every Thursday to visit the Kolonnaden Bar. Moderated talks with interesting guests and a programme of DJs promise a cosy summer evening in the Kolonnadenhof, right beside the Spree. Entry is free, prior online reservation is required. The Kolonnaden Bar is open in any weather.

Get out, breathe a sigh of relief, and enjoy being around people: After more than a year of restrictions, we yearn for that which we took for granted before the coronavirus pandemic. This year’s series at the Kolonnaden Bar takes an entertaining look at new longings and seeks corresponding moments in older paintings and objects from the collections on the Museuminsel. Art historians join in conversation with philosophers, scientists and other professionals. Afterwards, DJs play their favourite tunes. Cold drinks are can be purchased at the bar.
