The Kolonnaden Bar is back! At one of Berlin’s most attractive locations, on the edge of the historic Kolonnadenhof (Colonnaded Courtyard) situated at the Museuminsel’s northern tip and directly on the River Spree, cool beverages, DJ sets and a cultural programme with selected guests are on offer once again from 1 August to 1 September 2024, Thursdays to Saturdays from 4 to 10 pm (Sundays until 8  m).

Seating, bistro tables and – most importantly – the bar are arranged under the colonnades along the Spree, inviting guests to linger. The notion of a place suited for stimulating conversation, informal get-togethers and tasty drinks has a long tradition on the Museumsinsel. As far back as the late 19th century, a drinking establishment opened under the colonnades on the Spree, where it operated until the 1930s. This year, the Kolonnaden Bar’s seventh season is dedicated to the theme of taking a leisurely stroll.

Admission is free. Events take place rain or shine, with Berlin’s Museumsinsel colonnades providing shelter from the weather.

• Every Thursday with a cultural programme and DJ beginning at 6:30 pm

• 5:45 pm: Opening of the Kolonnaden Bar with Gero Dimter, vice president of the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz, and Burkhard Kieker, CEO of visitBerlin
• 6:30 pm: Cultural programme with a poetry slam by the Flaneure
• Followed by a DJ set by Johann Sebastian Bass (house, disco)
