Museumsinsel Berlin
To celebrate its five-year existence, Haus Bastian, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s Centre for Cultural Education, is hosting an event welcoming everyone to the Museumsinsel Berlin. On Saturday, 31 August 2024, from 12 noon to 8 pm, children, families, teens and adults are invited to get creative, get moving, become informed, exchange ideas, and explore the museums. Participation in all special offers is free, and no registration is required.
Diverse workshops throughout the day of the event offer participants access to creative art techniques and methods. A children’s disco, followed by a House Dance Workshop for adults, gets visitors on their feet and sets Haus Bastian in motion. Staatliche Museen zu Berlin staff will provide information about current educational projects. Accessibility to all programmes is barrier-free. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase.
Situated directly adjacent to the Museumsinsel, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Haus Bastian offers richly diverse possibilities for innovative educational work and outreach programmes. Haus Bastian is a centrally-located venue intended for a wide audience, where school groups and students, children and families, teenagers and adults will find more than just an ideal starting point from which to fan out into all 15 collections of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Following their visits, these same groups also have opportunities to enlarge upon and discuss their observations, experiences and questions in a very creative environment.
