The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin Prepares to Open Some of its Museums

29.04.2020

Since 14 March 2020, all branches of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin is working on a plan to open selected museums and collections by mid-May to accommodate a limited volume of visitors.

The aim is to provide those in Berlin who prefer to enjoy art and culture in person rather than online an opportunity to do so in these difficult times. Christina Haak, Deputy Director-General of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, speaks in an interview about the museums in these exceptional times, and about the prospects of reopening the museums.
