As the culmination of the ‘Connections’ series, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin invites all families currently living in Berlin to an Activities Day at the Museumsinsel Berlin on Sunday, 17 September 2017.

The special display ‘New Neighbours’ on the Museumsinsel, which offers a sneak peek at selected objects from the Museum für Asiatische Kunst and the Ethnologisches Museum before the full collections arrive at the Humboldt Forum, will take centre stage. The Family Activities Day is about exploring old, new, and future neighbours: Exhibition talks and workshops on this topic will be offered in German, English, and Arabic. This large family celebration will be held primarily in the Kolonnadenhof.

Family Activities Day marks the end of ‘Connections’, a series of events held throughout the summer of 2017 that highlighted both the diversity of the Museumsinsel and the guiding principles of the Humboldt Forum: multiperspectivity, current relevance, and public life. The Connections project is made possible by generous support from the Kuratorium Preussischer Kulturbesitz (Board of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation).
