What is our task?

Founded in 2009, the Friends of the Museum für Islamische Kunst in the Pergamonmuseum, endeavours to foster the unique position of the Museum für Islamische Kunst and support the work it does.

At the same time, by engaging with the diverse cultural heritage of Muslim societies, we would like to contribute to global understanding and mutual cultural exchange.

Who can become a member?

• Persons from all walks of life, faiths and nationalities who are interested in art
• Individuals, companies and institutions

How can I get involved?

• Through financial support
• By contributing ideas and participating in projects

Which types of activities are supported?

• Exhibitions and special events
• Restoration projects
• New acquisitions and publications
• Public relations campaigns that target and attract new visitor groups
• Thematic education programmes for children and adults alike
• Work at the intersections of contemporary and traditional arts and handicrafts

What do members receive in return?

• An annual membership provides access to all branches of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (including special exhibitions)
• Special events, previews, openings, lectures and presentations
