The Kunstbibliothek’s Photography Collection also uses the Museum für Fotografie as a platform to make its research projects known to a wide audience. In cooperation with the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), for example, a stage has been created for young photo artists and curators.
Under the title Seen By, exhibitions by UdK students are presented in cooperation with outside curators. The exhibitions are prepared through workshops in which a joint concept is developed with the students. This not only establishes a new form of teaching, but also enables concentrated thematic interaction among the works.
The lecture hall at the Museum für Fotografie is used for numerous conferences, evening lectures, book presentations and workshops, often held in connection with the exhibitions in the Kaisersaal. The hall is also open to other institutions for events on both the history and current developments and tendencies in photography.
