Humboldt Forum

The Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss is introducing a new, uniform price model with the aim of providing a clearly structured programme, simplifying the visitor experience, and combining commercial stability with cultural participation. As of 3 October 2025 until 12 July 2026, visitors will be able to use a single ticket to access the presentations of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s (National Museums in Berlin) collections from the Ethnologisches Museum (Ethnological Museum) and the Museum für Asiatische Kunst (Asian Art Museum), among others. They can choose between day passes, two-day passes, and group tickets – all of which are also available with the usual reductions. Advance sales started on 13 August 2025.

Thanks to the initiative of the founding directors and the then Minister of State for Culture Monika Grütters, the new exhibitions presenting the collections of the Ethnologisches Museum and the Museum für Asiatische Kunst on the second and third floors have been accessible to the public free of charge since the final opening phase in September 2022. From the very start, however, this was intended as a limited offer: in 2019 it was decided that the period of free admission would end after three years.

New Ticket and Price Model

The key objectives in developing the new entrance fees were comprehensibility and simplicity as well as affordable pricing. The new combination ticket will offer visitors access to the collection presentations of the Ethnologisches Museum and Museum für Asiatische Kunst on the second and third floors, among others.

The following prices will apply from 6 October 2025 to 12 July 2026:

  • The day pass is valid for one calendar day. The regular price is 14 euros; those eligible for reductions pay 7 euros or enter for free.
  • The two-day pass is valid on the selected day as well as the following day. The regular price is 18 euros across the counter; those eligible for reductions pay 9 euros or enter for free.
  • The group ticket is priced at a flat rate of 50 euros. It is valid for up to five adults, with or without children, on the selected day (no reductions).

Reduced admission applies during the theme weekend from 3 to 5 October 2025.

Advance sales for all tickets started on 13 August 2025.

With the introduction of admission charges, the prices for public and bookable educational and outreach programmes will also change.

Reductions remain in effect for eligible persons such as school and university students, voluntary service providers, trainees up to the age of 30, recipients of ALG I benefits, volunteer card holders, and persons with severe disabilities. The annual pass of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin includes free admission to the Ethnologisches Museum and Museum für Asiatische Kunst. Detailed information regarding discounts can be found on the Humboldt Forum website.

The new price structure is initially valid until 12 July 2026, when the exhibition Family Matters comes to an end. The long-term price strategy for the time after this programme cluster will be determined in early 2026. Please check the Humboldt Forum website for current prices and tickets.
