This three-year project is dedicated to the academic exploration of a previously unstudied collection of several hundred objects and photographs related to the material culture of the Crimean Tatars, most of which arrived in Berlin in the early 20th century. The goal is to systematically examine the provenance, usage contexts, and collection history of these artifacts and, in collaboration with Crimean Tatar experts, to open up current perspectives on a cultural heritage endangered by war, exile, and occupation.
