After months of intense preparations and thanks to support by our sponsors, the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, it’s now official: the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin has its own blog! Museum and the City features personal and entertaining posts from staff, inviting readers to take a look behind the scenes at the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Which objects do conservators find the most fascinating? What’s special about the job of a curator? Which funny or interesting anecdotes can now be aired through this new channel?

The blog is divided into four categories: 'People’, 'Places’, 'Things’ and 'What’s on?’, with each featuring stories on the constellation of individuals, museums, objects, and events that make up the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. In addition, the site will also show several regular series, including, for instance, videos on strange object biographies or video portraits of staff. The posts, images, and videos will present readers with a vivid picture of what’s going on inside their favourite museum – bringing them closer to the people who work there.
