On 10 April 2024, International Provenance Research Day will take place for the sixth time. As in previous years, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin provides insights into the work of provenance researchers from the fields of European Art, Archaeology and Postcolonial Provenance Research. In addition to guided provenance walking tours through Berlin’s historical centre in cooperation with other institutions in Berlin, tours will be offered on provenance research and the collection histories in the Antikensammlung (Collection of Classical Antiquities), the Ethnologisches Museum (Ethnological Museum) and the Museum für Asiatische Kunst (Asian Art Museum) at the Humboldt-Forum, the Museum Europäischer Kulturen (MEK, Museum of European Cultures) and the Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings).
If you would like to learn more about International Provenance Research Day on 10 April 2024 but also wish to stay up to date on the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s provenance research, follow the X account (formerly Twitter) of the provenance research team in Dahlem: Postcolonial Provenance Research Dahlem @PPR_Dahlem.
International Provenance Research Day is an initiative of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e. V., a worldwide network of 500 scholars and experts dedicated to researching the origins of cultural artefacts. The hashtag #TagderProvenienzforschung accompanies the event day on X (formerly Twitter).
