The "Backstories" series tells remarkable object stories from the collections of the National Museums in Berlin. This episode is about the fragment of a porcelain centrepiece belonging to Tsarina Catherine II. It was recovered in Berlin in the final days of the Second World War by British art protection officer Christopher Norris and found its way back into the Kunstgewerbemuseum's collection years later.
