On the occasion of the exhibition Andreas Mühe Mischpoche at Hamburger Bahnhof Andreas Mühe and Norbert Bisky will discuss the depiction of identity in the mediums of photography and painting as well as constellations of family in the recent history of Germany.
The talk will be moderated by Khuê Phạm.
Andreas Mühe, born 1979 in Chemnitz, became internationally known through his examination of the German past and identity. For the exhibition at Hamburger Bahnhof he conceived two large-scale photographic group portraits of his family.
Norbert Bisky, born 1970 in Leipzig, was a graduate student of Georg Baselitz’s in the 90ies at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin. His paintings of the last ten years offer sensitive insights into his personal dealings with issues surrounding family and society.
Born in Berlin in 1982, Khuê Phạm has been working for ZEIT magazine for ten years, writing socio-political portraits and reports. In 2012, she published the book “Wir neuen Deutschen” (“We New Germans”) with Alice Bota and Özlem Topçu about second generation migrants in Germany. She is currently working on her first novel.
