Viewing art through the eyes of a conservator-restorer is a rare opportunity offered to interested visitors each year on the European Day of Conservation-Restoration. On 16 October 2022, the event with its various activities takes place for the fifth time. The conservator-restorers from the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin will also be providing exclusive insights into their demanding work on the Day of Conservation-Restoration.
Conservator-restorers generally work behind the scenes. They research the materials and production techniques of the artworks and are responsible for their preservation.
